The impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on the Syrian regime

Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, it seemed as if the Syrian regime would be the most affected party to the repercussions of this invention  due to the regime's great association with Russia, the relation that has increased since the Russian military intervention began in Syria in 2015.

This study reviews the most prominent policies adopted by the regime in order to reduce the consequences of Russia's preoccupation with Ukraine, especially in the long run, such as strengthening coordination with Iran, efforts to end isolation and easing sanctions, and others.

The study then deals in detail with the expected current and future economic, political, and military effects on the regime. Such effects are almost entirely negative due to the decline in Russia's influence and presence in Syria. It concludes with an estimate of the extent to which the regime will be affected and how to deal with such a situation.

This study provides the public opinion and experts with a well-understanding of the extent to which the regime was affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, based on the hand-in-glove coordination between the two parties.
